It’s often said that football game and politics shouldn’t mix, despite the fact that the two be in a symbiotic relationship and it is therefore impossible to separate them.

What people often mean by the statement though, is that politics that they don’t agree with and football game shouldn’t mix – whereas when it echoes their own views that is fine.
